Set among the vineyards of Stellenbosch, Anura Wine Farm’s newly unveiled Racquet Club introduces a refined social and sporting destination to the Western Cape. Designed and executed end-to-end by Tammy Holmes of Ivy Décor & Design, the project began not as a renovation but as a completely blank canvas — a purpose-built warehouse-style structure flanking two international-grade padel courts, delivered as an empty shell with no fittings, fixtures or finishes in place.

Entrusted with transforming this raw industrial volume into a sophisticated country-club-style restaurant and leisure hub, Ivy Décor & Design approached the project holistically. The brief extended far beyond aesthetics. It encompassed spatial planning for a 100-seater restaurant, a Pro shop, guest bathrooms, bar and lounge areas, a viewing patio, and a hospitality-driven layout that would function seamlessly for both everyday service and special events.

From raw warehouse shell to refined racquet club, the space now balances sport, dining and vineyard views

The resulting space strikes a confident balance between leisure culture and warm hospitality. A palette of vibrant court-inspired greens anchors the interior, complemented by dark woods, vintage brass accents and richly veined marbles. The materiality evokes the character of an exclusive members-only club, yet remains welcoming and contemporary. Layered lighting, custom-designed wallpapers and considered joinery add depth and cohesion, reinforcing the Racquet Club’s distinct identity.

“We weren’t just decorating — we were building an identity for the Racquet Club and creating a place for its community to gather,” says Tammy. “Our role spanned the full transformation, from spatial design and joinery concepts to custom furniture, materials, lighting and final styling.”

Court-inspired greens, dark timber and brass accents shape a warm, members-club atmosphere

Every design decision reflects this intent. Seating typologies were curated to accommodate everything from relaxed post-match drinks to longer, leisurely dining experiences. Circulation was carefully mapped to ensure intuitive movement between courts, restaurant and social spaces. Stone selections, bespoke furniture pieces and detailing throughout were chosen to embed a sense of classic sporting heritage while maintaining a fresh, modern sensibility.

The final result is polished yet approachable — rooted in tradition but unmistakably contemporary. With its official launch, the Anura Racquet Club establishes a compelling social heart within the estate, offering members and guests a premium racquet and leisure destination that feels thoughtfully designed from the ground up.

Restaurant, bar and padel courts connect seamlessly, creating a new social heart in Stellenbosch

In transforming an industrial shell into a layered, hospitality-led environment, Ivy Décor & Design has delivered more than a restaurant beside a padel court. They have shaped a destination — one that speaks to the evolving culture of leisure in the Cape Winelands and sets a new benchmark for country-club living in South Africa.
