We are tickled peach that the PANTONE Colour of the Year 2024 is Peach Fuzz since House & Garden SA Decor Editor, Edwain Steenkamp predicted this colour in our October November issue, coining the shade as ‘apricot’.
“Somewhere between the boldness of 2022’s Viva Magenta, the phenomenon of Barbiecore, and the slow but mammoth approach of Quiet Luxury, I think we’re going to find an easy middle ground. We’ll take a few drops of each influence for a much softer — but still striking — shade of colour. All hail Apricot!” says Steenkamp.
The announcement of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz also marks the 25th anniversary of the PANTONE Color of the Year program. First introduced by the PANTONE Color Institute in 1999 with the PANTONE Color of the Year, PANTONE 15-4020 Cerulean Blue, the PANTONE Color of the Year captures the global zeitgeist, serving as an expression of a mood and an attitude on the part of the consumer.
