The countdown is officially on. On 30 September 2026, House & Garden South Africa will bring together some of the country’s most exciting creative minds for the House & Garden Designers of the Year Awards, celebrating the people, spaces, and ideas shaping the way we live, design, and create.

Taking place at Steyn City, the evening will be a celebration of design at its most considered – from architecture and interiors to gardens, art, craftsmanship, and product design.

The awards recognise the talent behind the work, shining a light on designers and creatives whose ideas are pushing South Africa’s design conversation forward. This year’s categories are the following:

  • Home of the Year
  • Architect of the Year
  • Interior Designer of the Year
  • Landscape Designer of the Year
  • Product Designer of the Year
  • Artist of the Year
  • Hotel of the Year
  • Restaurant/Bar of the Year
  • Influencer of the Year
  • Pan-African Designer of the Year
  • Sustainable Designer of the Year
  • Icon Award

It is a broad reflection of the creative landscape we’re seeing right now: bold new spaces, thoughtful objects, inventive approaches to sustainability, artists working across different disciplines, and established figures whose influence has helped shape the industry.

For House & Garden, the awards are an opportunity to bring that community together under one roof – and to celebrate the work that deserves to be seen. The evening will culminate in the announcement of this year’s winners, with a black-tie dinner marking the occasion.

Date: 30 September 2026

Location: Steyn City, Johannesburg

The names have been shortlisted. The anticipation is building. Now, there’s only one thing left to do: count down to the night when South Africa’s design talent takes centre stage.
