We chatted to the H&G team to find out which are there favourite drinks to have on National Gin & Tonic Day. From simple concoctions to colourful layers, these are the favourites from the team.

A Classic G&T

- x2 shots of gin (any kind of classic gin would do)

- normal tonic water

- x2 slices of fresh cucumber

Mix these up in a highball glass for the perfect gin & tonic on a warm sunny day.

Pretty in Pink

– 50ml Beefeater Pink Strawberry Gin

– 150ml sugar-free tonic water

– Halved strawberries

Add the gin to a copa-glass over ice. Top with tonic water and garnish with strawberries to serve. I'm obsessed with the strawberry flavour of this gin. The mix of botanicals is refreshing and makes an excellent tipple in the hot summer months.

Keep it Floral and Fragrant

– Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin

–Indian tonic water

– Slices of oranges and a cucumber ribbon

Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin is one of my favourites, with orange and floral essences on the nose and palate. I mix it with a good indian tonic water (like Fever-Tree) to keep the focus on the gin and garnish with slices of orange and a cucumber ribbon.

Aromatic spices

– 30ml Roku gin

– 120ml Tonic

– Ginger sticks, aniseed & cinnamon sticks

– A slice of orange

Combine the gin and tonic and pour over ice. Garnish with ginger sticks, aniseed, cinnamon and a slice of orange for the added sweetness. The subtle spices add a fragrant note to the gin and make it the perfect autumn cocktail to warm you from the inside out.
