If you have a sweet tooth, be warned, this dessert cafe has treats that’ll test your resolve. Nestled in the bustling Cape Quarter Lifestyle, De Waterkant area, Cafe Chiffon is fast becoming a firm favourite with the brunch crowd. The cafe opened in early 2022, and often has a wait on busy mornings. One could call the cafe intimate, as the space is limited but is maximised where possible.

If you’ve been online, chances are you spotted the neutral tones, minimal decor and beautiful details of the cafe on social media. The blush pink chairs and the minimalist leanings run through the textured brick wall with beautiful windows for maximum light.

But what about the food? That’s where this cafe excels.Think fluffy cakes with light layers of cream, so it’s sweet but not overwhelmingly so. If you need your morning brew, it’s served in gorgeous textured earthenware that feels cosy.

The cafe also has a selection of tea and recently hosted a Mother’s Day High Tea event.

But if you see something you love on the menu, don’t wait to go and sample it for yourself.

Cafe Chiffon eatery has a monthly menu, so the offerings change on a regular basis. Usually, the new menu is launched early in the month, so patrons are available to see what’s on offer.

Either way, there’s no lack of sweetness around, one month the menu consisted of Japanese cheesecake, chiffon cakes in different flavours and macaroons with joyful bursts of colour.

Keep an eye on the social media for the latest on offer and do note, the cafe is only open from Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.
