The Plant Powered Show 2023, which took place between 26 and 28 May, was a resounding success, with a diverse programme featuring compelling talks by leading health and wellness experts, interactive masterclasses, and more.

The event, that took place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), focused on holistic health and wellness and was fun for the entire family, and anyone interested in the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.

In the Checkers Plant Kitchen, powered by Simple Truth, acclaimed chefs demonstrated how to make the most delectable cuisine, showing audiences how versatile the plant-based lifestyle can be. People also had the time of their lives at the masterclasses as they learnt to prepare quick and easy meals that were packed with flavour. Chad January was one of the chefs at the event who impressed with his delectable pesto with mince, and sundried tomato bread wreath.

He [January] advised audiences to always use good quality products for the dish, especially the pesto. “If you’re going to go through the effort of making pesto, use a good olive oil. You could actually use any oil depending on the flavour profile you’re going for, as long as it’s a quality product.”
