From Stellenbosch to Constantia, South African vinification and the innovative growth the wine industry is experiencing at the moment is momentous, especially considering that we now have black and women-owned wine farms and brands.

But today we’re here to talk about the award-winning Flagstone Pinotage, Time Manner Place, which was recently awarded Pinotage of the year, a 5-star rating at The Platter Awards and will release their 2017 vintage in February 2020.

The velvety and weighty red wine is said to be an unforgettable way to toast the festive season.

Time Manner Place Pinotage features unique character with intense aromas and smoky, spicy undertones, delivering a fruitiness enveloped in gentle tannins. According to Flagstone the Pinotage plays on Flagstone’s love of poetry, linguistics and creativity and promises to linger with you long after the magical moments of indulgence pass.

Colour:

Deep, incredibly dark purple colour, with lively bright purple edges.

Bouquet:

Intense, concentrated aromas of wild blueberry, mulberry & ripe cherry supported by smoky, spicy dark chocolate undertones.

Palate:

On the palate, the wine is ripe &generous with a core of wild blackberry, preserved plum & youngberry. These fruit characteristics are supported by subtle toasty oak, hints of white truffle, dark chocolate & thyme. A pure expression of this single vineyard.

Food Pairing:

Pinotage is an incredible wine because it is versatile enough to pair across a huge spectrum of dishes from oysters to game to spicy Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s also an absolute winner with a rare fillet of kudu & parsnip mash.
