For the next instalment in this ongoing Double Tap series, the H&G team dug deep in their saved archives to share designs, people and interior pieces that inspire them. With so much design inspiration and limited characters, here are our favourite posts of the week. We hope it inspires you too and don’t forget to follow our Instagram account.

Idyllic holiday

“With winter blues and influenza season rearing its ugly head in South Africa, for me, there has been an air of gloom all around. There is nothing I’d love more than to escape from the stressors of academia and the crisp chill of winter to a gorgeous holiday destination where I could simply exist without anyone needing anything from me.” - Kauthar Gool, Digital Editor

Balloon Bloom

“I love receiving – aka buying myself – a bouquet of flowers every now and then. It brightens up any space and serves as a gorgeous reminder of the little joys surrounding us. However, this is a kookie spin on things. A bouquet of balloons, delicately shaped into different types of blooms. It's a whimsical solution for anyone with bothersome allergies." - Walter Hayward, Managing & Syndication Editor

Tiles with magnificent detailing

“Terracotta tiles have become my recent obsession, especially those with intricate detail and beautiful carvings. Paired alongside darker green and a darker brown allows the colours to work in unison for this small bathroom space, providing plenty of detail while still keeping it subtle. Neutral doesn't have to mean boring, and I think this image just proves it.” - Yashna Balwanth, Acting Editor-in-chief

Winter warmer

“This winter, my interior obsession is to serve myself a sensory overload with texture and all things bright and colourful. Surrounding myself with colour helps uplift those cold winter days and blue Mondays.” - Vine Lucas, Digital Campaign Manager

Calming kitchens

"There's nothing quite as soothing as wood tones in the kitchen." - Edwain Steenkamp, Decor and Features Editor
