Kelly Hoppen, the queen of serene, taupe interiors, has taken a new direction with her latest collaboration, a celebration of the 90th birthday of Disney icon Mickey Mouse. Three new collections will see Mickey popping up in wallpapers, rugs, and bedding, taking centre stage in huge images, or subtly depicted in small prints.

The first collection features wallpapers and murals produced by Graham & Brown, both bold colourful designs and the more soothing tones of Hoppen's beloved beige. The second, available from October, is a collection of rugs produced by Mayfair-based Essie Carpets, starting from £2500 (just under R50 000), and each with their own certificate of authenticity. Finally, a range of bedding will be sold exclusively via QVC from November, so that everyone can snuggle up with Mickey in the comfort of their own bedroom.

Says Kelly: 'I’ve grown up with Mickey and he has been such a huge part of my life - almost one of the family! I absolutely adore him, and can’t even tell you how much fun I had creating these designs. It’s an honour to be able to reimagine Mickey in my own way.'
