By the lake in Nordelta, Tigre, Argentina, Casa Zonda presents a philosophy of serene living, where light structures each space and privacy coexists with generous openings to the landscape. Designed by Melazza Mobili in collaboration with LAK Studio, the residence balances discreet luxury with comfort, marrying noble materials, clear proportions, and bespoke solutions that prioritise everyday well-being.
The home is conceived around a central double-height space and fluid circulation that guides residents and visitors from the warm, wooden-clad entrance into the social core. A handcrafted circular table with a Patagonian quartz top and fluted base greets guests, while paper lamps by Cristián Mohamed illuminate the foyer with a balance of organic and geometric forms. Open living and dining areas overlook an interior courtyard, filtered through floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains that soften light and create human scale within expansive volumes.
Natural materials define the home’s character: oak dominates surfaces and carpentry, complemented by veined stone, raw textiles, and matte black accents. A restrained colour palette of neutral planes and olive-green upholstery connects interiors with the outdoors, while woven natural fibres in doors and closures subtly reference craftsmanship. The double-height staircase serves as a sculptural element, linking levels with a dynamic zigzag form that enhances rhythm and texture, while custom storage maintains order without disrupting visual lightness.
In the social core, the Kayla dining table and light, permeable chairs create an inviting area for daily life and entertaining. A wooden and dark-stone bar extends seamlessly outdoors, while private areas continue the tactile, serene narrative with stone bathrooms, sculptural sinks, circular mirrors, and bespoke Nudo lamps. Bedrooms open to lake views, offering a calm, restful retreat, while family spaces employ natural materials and refined finishes to foster comfort and quiet elegance.
Technology integrates discreetly, with lighting and sound controlled via home automation, maintaining visual calm and enhancing daily living. Sustainability is embedded in the design through passive strategies, long-lasting materials, and natural ventilation, ensuring the home is both comfortable and environmentally conscious.
Casa Zonda exemplifies the philosophy of Melazza Mobili: contextually rooted, craft-driven, and subtly elegant. Every detail reflects a careful balance between precision and warmth, emotion and functionality. In this lakeside retreat, the everyday is elevated into an experience of serene luxury, order, and emotional resonance, proving that thoughtful design transforms life into a quietly exceptional art
