Highveld Heaven

Trading urban chaos for eco living, this family home designed by architect Philip Briel in Lanseria marries sustainability with exemplary design. The guest bedroom claims trademark Highveld views.

 Bush Life

Architect Lisa Tolkin converted a Tuscan-style Paarl villa into a simple and modern, view-embracing holiday home. Bringing the outside into the house was one of the main intentions of the design, implemented with glass sliding doors.

Ocean Retreat

Interior designer Andrea Graff chose pieces in this Clifton home with an organic African feel that would create an easy informal elegance in the statement space. The riempie footstools from Pierre Cronje and white-painted Weylandts ottoman contrast with the contemporary side tables by James B Hannah, all underpinned by a coir rug.

Neutral Views

This weekend retreat in the Cradle of Humankind evokes a contemporary country outpost. Here, the main bedroom looks out onto the homestead.

Cityscape

Tom Dixon mirror-ball lights hang like an art installation and reflect in the mirrored walls in this Cécile & Boyd urban apartment. Forward-thinking finishes from designer Geordi da Sousa Costa creates a glamorous urban pad at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
