Celebrating art and African heritage, the recently revamped Cape Grace Hotel has entered its icon era.

Cape Town’s Cape Grace Hotel has re-emerged in sophisticated style, thanks to the transformative vision of 1508 London, a globally respected design studio that was brought on board for this expansive renovation. Drawing from Cape Town’s rich history as a global crossroads, the studio’s Dubai team infused each space with elements that reflect South Africa’s diverse cultural and natural heritage. The result is an ambiance that marries elegance and history, honouring the African landscape and artistry while crafting a luxurious yet welcoming retreat.

The extensive renovation breathes new life into every corner of the Cape Grace, showcasing a modern aesthetic that preserves the hotel’s sense of place. From the strikingly redesigned reception area to each of the 112 reimagined rooms and suites, Cape Grace combines contemporary sophistication with traditional African warmth.

Local artists have adorned the walls with custom artworks that celebrate the continent’s unique beauty and African literature is available at every turn, while the furnishings, many of which are crafted from locally sourced materials, add an unmistakable authenticity.

Expansive windows and glass sliding doors frame breathtaking views of Signal Hill, Table Mountain and the marina, filling spaces with natural light that highlights a palette of soft hues and rich textures. Dining at Cape Grace is immersive. The Heirloom Restaurant offers an inspired take on South African cuisine, combining local ingredients with creative flair. The attention to detail extends beyond aesthetics into the hotel’s new wellness offerings. The Fairmont Spa has been revitalised to provide an oasis of relaxation where guests can reconnect with the great outdoors and themselves. The treatments on offer incorporate native botanicals, and the spa’s serene layout — enhanced by natural materials and calming aromas — creates an environment where relaxation flows effortlessly. Guests can expect an entrancing sensory journey that mirrors the Cape’s coastal and floral landscapes and that will leave them feeling renewed.
