We are currently fawning over OKHA’s latest interior project, Clifton 301, because the living space is complete Summer lifestyle goals.

The seasonal two-bedroom apartment is located in a contemporary and sophisticated complex that was designed by architectural giants, SAOTA.

What makes the location of Clifton301 iconic is that it is flanked on either side by Table Mountain’s Twelve Apostles, it offers panoramic views of the Cape Atlantic Ocean and features a design aesthetic that makes it equal parts luxurious getaway, relaxed coastal retreat and entertainer’s dream.

OKHA director Adam Court OKHA and his team’s vision for the apartment’s interior was to create a cool and restful space in contrast to the bright, sunlit exterior.

‘Our first objective was to individualise the space by modulating the internal colour palette. We used subtle shades of green with delicate natural tonalities that reference the local landscape,” says Court.

Table Mountain’s granite, fynbos and dappled woods are emulated throughout the apartment in a rich, raw palette of natural timbers, stones and metals. The team then contrasted this rugged style with plush velvets and linens on the walls, floors and furniture coverings. The combination of these décor styles result in what Court refers to as a contemporary quiet opulence.

‘These shades are repeated in the furniture with a strong emphasis on textures and materials. The designs are pared-back and lean focussing on strong forms and shapes that communicate simply and directly. All the artwork accessories and objects are from Cape based artisans and add an essential level of layering and local character,’ Court added.
