2022 looks to be a year of healing, re-emergence, and searching for comfort. These sentiments are reflected in the colours that have been touted as the palette for the year ahead. Shades of purple, green and earthy tones reflect the current zeitgist, as showcased by numerous colour authorities who revealed their colours of the year for 2022.

These are a few hues we’re loving for the new year:

Very Peri

Pantone revealed Very Peri as their colour of choice for 2022. A cool periwinkle shade, it is the perfect blend of calming blue and exciting red. The colour is meant to symbolise our transition back into the world post Covid-19.

October Mist

Paint conglomerate Benjamin Moore picked a soft silvery green, October Mist, as their colour for 2022. The gentle shade of sage represents restoration, relaxation, peace, growth and revitalisation.

Art and Craft

Dunn Edward’s pick for Colour of the Year is an earthy shade of sophisticated brown. The warm natural tone reflects the stability, calm and comfort that we are all seeking right now. It’s also in line with the back-to-nature trend that is currently manifesting in interior design.
